April 19, 2010 PLC

Attendance

Scout Meeting Plans

1. ASM Brooks will start Citizenship in the Nation merit badge in May. Date & time to be determined.

2. On 4/26 the troop will go to Tibwin for the Forestry merit badge. Departure from the Scout hut at 5:30 p.m. Board of Reviews will be conducted at the Scout hut.

3. On 5/10 Michael Hall will be teaching leadership. An Ultimate Frisbee game will follow the training. Each member of the PLC should review their job requirements to ensure they are doing their job.

4. On 5/17 the younger Scouts will complete their physical fitness Tenderfoot requirements. The troop will work on an A-frame leadership activity.

5. NO meeting on 5/31 due to Memorial Day.

6. COH on May 3rd.

Activities

1. The May event is canoe training and canoe merit badge at Camp Moultrie from May 21-23. It IS REQUIRED for any Scout who DOES NOT have the merit badge and wants to go on the June canoe trip. It is OPTIONAL for those who have the merit badge. Older scouts are needed to help with the canoe training.

2.An older scout event is scheduled for this weekend, a cycling campout with a 50 mile cycling trip. The Saturday night cook is to be determined; it will probably be Mr. Dunn. Departure is at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

March 15, 2010 PLC

Scout Meeting Plans

1. ASM Brooks will continue Citizenship MB classes with Citizenship in the Nation. Next class will be when scouts finish thier Citizenship in the Community MB.
2. NO meeting on 4/5 due to Spring Break. Troop meetings scheduled for 4/12 and 4/26; PLC on 4/19.
3. On 4/12 the troop will work on requirements 3,4 and 6 of the Forestry MB.
Austin and Ross will teach requirement 6. Cameron and James will teach requirements 3 and 4.
4. On 4/26 the troop will go to to Tibwin Plantation, and will work on requirements 1 and 2, hopefully with a park ranger.
5. Next board of review on 4/19.
6.Next Court of Honor on May 3rd.

Upcoming Activiies

1. March event is the Cumberland Island campout 3/26-3/28.
2. Older scout event at Capers Island 3/26-3/28.
3. New scout campout at BP Rec Area 4/16-4/18.
4. Older scout cycling event 4/23-4/25. Mr. Hills will develop a plan.

Febuary 15, 2010 PLC

Scout Meeting Plans

1. ASM Brooks will continue Citizenship MB classes with Citizenship in the Nation. Next class will be anounced when known. ASM Brooks wants scouts to continue working on Citizenship in the Community.
2. Meetings on 3/1 and 3/8 will focus on the Nature MB. Austin Ando, Michael Hall, Creed Branham and Graham Lenes will be instructing. For the 3/1 meeting, Austin will be teaching snakes and how to identify them and Michael Hall will be teaching six different types of shells. For the 3/8 meeting, Creed will be teaching the food chain and Graham will be teaching about endangered species.
3. There will be a PLC on 3/15
4. Meetings 3/22 and 3/29 will focus on the Physical Fitness MB. David Hall, Waring Hills and James Lambert will be instructing. For the 3/22 meeting, David will be supervising pushups, situps and a flexability sit and reach activity. Waring will be supervising a 1 mile run and req. 3 on diseases. James will be discussing req. 2.
5. Next board of review will be on 3/8

Upcoming Activities

1. The March Activity is Cumberland Island 3/26-3/28. Forms will be due 3/15
2. NYLT at Ho Non Wah 2 weekends 3/5-3/7 and 3/19-3/21. Troop will cover cost for 2 people.

January 25, 2010 PLC

Scout Meeting Plans
1. ASM Brooks will start Citizenship MB classes in Feb. They will run 6-7 pm before troop meetings. The exact start date is to be determined. T20 will attend Mt. Pleasant Town Council meeting on Tues, 2/9. This will replace the Monday night 2/8 troop meeting.
2. Mr. Chip Campsen or another official may speak at one of the meetings concerning citizenship. Citizenship (World) requirement 3A and Citizenship (Nation) requirements 4 and 5 will be discussed at the 2/22 Monday troop meeting. Michael Schoeltens will lead these lessons.
3. ASM Hills wants to meet with Venture Patrol members about 15 minutes before the Feb 1 troop meeting. Those scouts First Class and above and 14 years old are welcome.
4. The theme for March is physical fitness.

Upcoming Activities
1. Scout Sunday is Sunday, 2/7. Scouts are encouraged to wear uniforms to the church they attend.
2. The 20 mile hike is scheduled for 2/13 and 14 along the Swamp Fox Passage of the Palmetto Trail. We will hike from mile marker 14 to mile marker 34, camping overnight at marker 26.
Permission slips and forms will be available feb 1 and must be returned at the next meeting.
3. The March activity is the Cumberland Island campout on March 26-28. There is the possibility for the Venture Patrol to do an overnight hike on Cumberland Island.
4. NYLT will be held at Ho Non Wah on two weekends, 3/5-7 and 3/19-21. The troop will cover the cost for 2 scouts to attend.

Scout Meeting Plans
1. Jan 9 (Sat)-Leadership training at the Scout Hut. This is required for PLC members and open to all T20 scouts. Lunch will be provided. Training is from 8:30 am to 3 pm. Uniform is Class B.
2. Jan 11-Snow Sports Merit Badge. James Lambert, Austin Ando, Stephen Mattox and Dylan Hudgins will go over the requirements for the MB. This is in preparation for the T20 ski trip on Jan 14-16. Webelos den from Pack 470 will visit T20.
3. The theme for Feb is Citizenship. ASM Brooks will conduct classes covering the three Citizenship MBs. The classes will be held for one hour prior to the start of the troop meeting. Each MB will require 2 classes.
